Photograph restoration and printing

AirClix can restore, enhance or manipulate your photography even if it's faded, discolored, torn, scratched, stained...

Our 3 Step process:

  1. Scan your photography, poster or artwork to create digital image files.
  2. Edit image files with powerful, Adope Photoshop software.
  3. Create Giclee prints from edited files.

A large cyan "stain" on the original B&W negative was effectively removed using Photoshop™. Other tools completed the restoration! Color was added for fun!

Purple/brown blotches were removed from the scanned copy of the original artwork using Photoshop™ filters. The digital copy was then Giclee printed on archival paper.

Scanning, restoration and printing details

  • If required,  photos are removed from their frames prior to scanning. Paper backing, nails or fasteners are removed from frame in order to access the artwork or photo. This service also includes re-installing media to frame. Photos stuck to frame glass will NOT be removed.
  • Image is captured at 600 dpi, 24 bit depth and saved for image editing.
  • Photographs or posters can be restored or enhanced to return the original vibarant colors using image Adobe Photoshop!
  • Many Photoshop tools, filters and processes can be used to remove creases, tears, blotches and fading. Color saturation and contrast is also restored
  • Other manipulations of the original photograph or artwork is possible includes removing people or items, changing backgrounds.
  • A final version of edited image will be sent to client prior to printing or project completion.
  • AirClix uses Epson printers featuring UltraChrome PRO10 and HD inks to produce archival Giclee prints. Our printers can achive impressive resolutions of 5670 x 1440 dpi.
  • AirClix offers a range archival papers including luster/matte finish photo papers/canvas and 100% cotton based fine art papers.
  • Only original manufacturer, archival Giclee inks are used.

  • 1 hour Photoshop: $40/hour
